Types of false ceiling we install
Each design suits a different room. Our engineer will tell you which one your slab height and lighting plan allow.
Peripheral
A border band along the room edge. It keeps the centre height of the room, hides the wiring, and carries spot lights. The usual choice for rented flats and for rooms where the slab is already low.
Cove
A recessed channel that throws warm light up onto the ceiling. This is the most asked for design in Chennai homes, and it is what makes a living room photograph well at night.
Floating
A panel hung clear of the walls and lit from behind. It suits double height rooms and feature areas where the ceiling itself should be the thing you notice.
Coffered
A grid of recessed panels. Formal and architectural, mostly chosen for villas, showrooms and reception areas.
What goes into a JEF ceiling
These are the materials we use on every false ceiling job. Ask any other contractor for the same list before you compare quotes.

Gypsum or POP for a Chennai home?
Gypsum is better for most Chennai homes. It is installed dry, gives a flat seamless finish, and can be cut and patched if a repair is needed later. POP absorbs humidity and develops hairline cracks, though it is still suitable for ornate cornice work where the design has to be hand finished.

Why the framing decides everything
Once the board is up, nobody can inspect what is behind it. We fix 0.55 mm GI channel at 600 mm centres and we do not stretch that spacing to save material, because wrong spacing is the main reason a false ceiling sags a few years later. We photograph the framing before it is closed and send the photos to you, so you have a record of what is above your head.
